Product Support Update
ISC REFLEX - Performance Investigation Update
On 19 June 2026, ISC issued an update regarding ongoing investigations into reports of performance fade and slippage affecting some REFLEX mechanical hitch devices.
Following analysis of user feedback, returned devices and product testing, ISC identified accelerated wear of the upper rope-engaging links as a common characteristic in devices exhibiting performance degradation.
ISC states that its investigations have found no evidence of manufacturing defects, component tolerance issues or assembly concerns. However, certain operating conditions may significantly increase wear rates, including repeated high-speed descents, extended descents, use without additional friction where appropriate and operation in dirty or abrasive environments.
Affected product: ISC REFLEX Mechanical Hitch Device.
Customer action: Users should regularly inspect their REFLEX device, monitor for reduced grabbing performance, unexpected slippage or signs of performance fade, and remove the device from service if concerns cannot be resolved through cleaning, maintenance or inspection.
ISC advises users not to rely solely on time in service when assessing device condition and to contact ISC directly if any performance concerns are identified.

Inspection Recommendation
Marlow Vesper Climbing Line - Vesper Splice
Marlow Ropes have issued a product inspection recommendation for Vesper tree climbing ropes up to and including April 2023.
The notice relates to a possible manufacturing defect affecting a small percentage of ropes, estimated by Marlow as 2%-3% of ropes. The Vesper splice includes a small lock-stitch designed to prevent the splice moving if manipulated by hand, such as when forcing a large karabiner into the eye.
Marlow state that the stitch does not contribute to the strength of the splice and that Vesper ropes pass EN 1891 requirements with or without the lock-stitch. However, customers are advised to inspect applicable ropes following the manufacturer guidance.
Affected products: Vesper tree climbing ropes up to and including April 2023.
Customer action: Inspect the splice and follow the Marlow inspection recommendation.

Stop Use Notice
ISC UltraLink LK100A1.2 - Inspection Notice
On November 17th 2023, ISC advised of a single incident of button assembly failure on the LK100A1.2.
Due to the risk of unintentional opening of the device, which could result in a life-threatening situation, users were asked to stop using the device and immediately conduct the inspection process.
ISC advised that an internal investigation was underway to determine whether this was an isolated incident or whether there was a wider spread of parts.
Affected product: ISC UltraLink LK100A1.2.
Customer action: Stop use and follow the inspection process.
Product Recall
ISC UltraLink Safety Notice / Product Recall
On November 30th 2023, ISC issued an Important Safety Notice and Product Recall for UltraLink devices following the earlier inspection notice.
ISC reported that the press fixture used to secure the SafeLock button assembly had moved outside specification, creating the potential for a faulty press fit of the button. This can lead to the button turning open and coming apart.
Stop use: Due to the risk of unintentional opening of the device, which could result in a life-threatening situation, users must stop using the device if it falls within the affected serial number ranges.
Affected serial numbers: LK100A1.2: 170431-177209; LK101A1.2: 170433-176974.
Customer action: Stop use and register with ISC to start the recall process.
Product Recall
STIHL RMA 235.0 Battery Lawn Mower Recall
STIHL has issued a recall for potentially affected RMA 235.0 battery lawn mowers.
Investigations showed that the normative requirements for blade braking time were not fulfilled on some machines, meaning the blade may take longer to come to a complete stop. STIHL states this may increase the risk of injury to the user.
The recall involves checking the blade braking time and replacing the wiring harness in affected machines at a dealership where necessary.
Affected product: Potentially affected STIHL RMA 235.0 battery lawn mowers within specified serial number ranges.
Customer action: Stop using potentially affected machines immediately and contact a STIHL Approved Dealer for inspection and any necessary repair.
