Gustharts is a small family run business that's been established for 40 years based in a lovely rural location at The Milkhope Centre in Seaton Burn.
As a STIHL Dealer we sell a variety of STIHL machines and Arboricultural equipment from our showroom as well as service and repair all major mowers, chainsaws and strimmer's. All departments including our very busy website team are supported from a well - stocked and managed onsite stockroom.
Sales Assistant
Main Purpose:
Enjoy dealing with general public
positively. Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers to encourage loyalty. Sell products stocked using product knowledge and offer best advice.
All training will be given on products sold but a strong interest in outdoor power equipment, garden machinery or climbing equipment would be advantageous.
Job details:
Sell to customers with a positive attitude, a friendly manner, and a desire to meet the company target. Build excellent product knowledge using training and experience.
Answer the phone and deal with phone queries and potential sales. Record all sales and quotes accurately.
Accurately follow processes on computer to maintain accurate stock records and product sales.
General retail duties including cleaning and merchandising stock on sales floor.
Always maintain a tidy stockroom. Ensure goods are priced correctly.
Expectations:
Work as a team to support each department, achieve goals.
Friendly and approachable always demonstrating a confidence and willingness to help customers, dealing with customers positively.
Ready to learn and prepared to research new products.
Can use own initiative, personal drive and focus on the customer to always deliver a superb customer experience.
Experience
Experience within a sales environment is preferred however a desire to help customers and an interest in the products would also be considered.
Experience within the industry would be advantageous and all training in sales would be given to the right candidate.
Additional Details
Shop hours are Monday to Friday - 8am till 5pm.
Must be available for Saturday - working 8.30am - 12.30pm on rotation during summer months (April to Sept) and is paid at overtime rate.
Must be able to drive to due location not being near any public bus stops and at times may be required to drive the company van for deliveries.

Stores Assistant
We are looking for a strong candidate to work within our busy warehouse/stockroom. The successful candidate will have valuable knowledge and experience in warehousing. This role includes working within a small team to pick goods accurately, work quickly and efficiently whilst using initiative to support the running and effective operation of our shop and website teams.
The role would see you carrying out general warehouse duties, including picking and packing orders, accepting deliveries, putting away stock into the correct bin location. The person will be able to demonstrate how they use their initiative on a day-to-day basis.
Own travel will be required as public transport is not possible to this location.
Job Summary:
- Picking and packing of orders
- Replenishing stock into correct location
- Receipting stock from deliveries and moving large volumes of stock into stockroom
- Updating stock records as required
- To undertake other duties which may arise including stock checks, stock layout changes etc
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick & pack accurately all orders for customers.
- Placing of receipted goods into correct locations.
- Health & safety awareness
- Issuing parts to workshop team for use on workshop jobs.
- Manual handling of products and allocation of stock
- Dealing with inbound / outbound deliveries
- Organising stock and counting stock levels
- Inputting stock into database, using computer systems
- Placing of receipted goods in correct locations
- Finding the aisle location, picking out the orders accurately
- Stock control / stock checks
- Labelling products
- General housekeeping, keeping work area clean and tidy
Essential skills

The Hours
- Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm
- Occasional Saturday work may be required during busy summer months 8.30am - 12.30pm where overtime rate will be applied.
