Always consult your leaf blower instruction manual to familiarise yourself with the machine's operating functions. Inspect your machine before starting to ensure everything is in working order. To start a leaf blower, follow these steps:
Place the machine on a level, dust-free surface, and check that the master control is in cold-start and the power switch is on.
Press the manual fuel pump a minimum of five times.
If you have a backpack leaf blower, use your right foot to secure the blower in place at the base plate before gripping the blower handle with your left hand and grabbing the starter handle with your right.
If you have a handheld leaf blower, hold the blower firmly to the ground with your right hand and grab the starter handle with your left.
Pull the start handle until you feel resistance, repeating this step until the blower tries to start.
Change the master control to the run setting before pulling the starter handle to start the blower. Squeeze the throttle to disengage the throttle lock.
