ART BlackBird – Ultimate Versatility for SRS/SRT & MRS/DRT Tree Climbing
The BlackBird by ART redefines versatility for professional tree climbers and arborists across the UK. Designed to seamlessly facilitate climbing in both Single Rope System (SRS/SRT) and Moving Rope System (MRS/DRT) techniques, this innovative device allows you to switch between methods without any additional adjustments or tools. Crucially, the rope never needs to be removed from the device, ensuring efficiency and safety during complex tree work.
Experience identical, controlled descent behaviour whether you're on SRT or MRS, providing consistent performance and confidence in diverse situations. The BlackBird is engineered for maximum convenience: it can be fully opened with a push button, allowing it to be mid-line attachable without needing to be detached from your harness – a significant advantage during aerial rescue or intricate rigging.
An integrated swivel guarantees optimal alignment at all times, enhancing fluidity and reducing twisting. The clever positioning of the upper carabiner attachment, opposite the user, makes rope feeding into the device effortless. This upper attachment point is also incredibly versatile, ideal for setting up V-rigs or efficient 3:1 or 4:1 pulley systems for hauling and mechanical advantage. A ball-bearing pulley ensures exceptionally comfortable operation, even when taking up slack.
For individual preferences, the cam can be rotated on the friction amplifier, allowing for personalised adjustments to suit different rope types or climbing styles. A dedicated carabiner attachment point facilitates connection to your chest harness, making it easy to pull the device up during ascent.
Built with safety as a priority, the BlackBird by ART is approved for rescue with two persons on both a single rope (SRT) and a double rope (DRT), underscoring its robust capabilities for professional use. All wearing parts are replaceable, extending the lifespan of your investment, and it comes with two cams for different rope diameters, ensuring compatibility with your preferred climbing lines.
